Makrinitsa is perhaps one of the most traditional villages in Pelion. With its distinctive architecture and the prohibition of cars has become an attraction for many visitors. It is worth walking the cobbled paths of the village and enjoy the spectacular views of the city of Volos. In the streets of the village you will find small shops selling various kinds of herbs that grow on the mountain Pelion.
In the square there is a large plane tree, the church of St. John and many different gourmet shops ideal for enjoying a coffee or a meal.
The route from Volos to Makrinitsa is about 12 km and it takes about 20 minutes.
